Dave Matthews Band at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater

It almost always rains when Dave Matthews Band comes to the beach.

In 2018, during his annual trek to the south shore of Long Island, the skies emptied for a good part of the late afternoon. The dark sky, high winds and flooding conditions let up just in time for the start of the show, with Mother Nature even providing a lovely rainbow stretching lazily over the venue.

This year, fans were able to enjoy eight amazing songs by Dave Matthews and crew before lightning scorched across the sky. After a slight delay in which everyone was encouraged to seek shelter in their cars or covered areas of the outdoor venue, the decision was made to reschedule the show for the following night, July 18th. Die hard fans rejoiced at the concept of coming back to see more of their favorite band while others from out of state bemoaned plane tickets home already purchased.
