“Laissez les bons temps rouler" means “Let the good times roll” and that’s exactly what happened on a gorgeous fall Monday evening in Huntington, New York as The Revivalists brought the “All in the Family:10 Years of Men Amongst Mountains” tour to The Paramount.

On this, the sixth night of a 20 city tour, the audience was treated to Nolan Taylor opening the show (other Revivalist tour dates include support by Grace Bowers and the Hodge Podge, Wilderado, Hans Williams, The Main Squeeze, Crowe Boys and Lamont Landers). Hailing from Blanchester, OH, Taylor is a singer/ songwriter with a tight band and compelling lyrics, both drawing the audience closer to the stage as his set wove a beautiful tapestry of songs that equally had the power to break your heart and rebuild it again.

Taking the stage a bit after 9:15, the eight-piece band who formed in New Orleans in 2007 came ready to play. The Revivalists is a powerhouse collective of talented musicians including David Shaw on guitars and lead vocals, Zack Feinberg on guitar, Andrew Campanelli on drums, George Gekas on bass, Ed Williams on pedal steel guitar, Rob Ingraham on saxophone, Michael Girardot on keyboards and trumpets and PJ Howard on drums.  Anyone lucky enough to have witnessed their collaborative musical triumphs on stages ranging from the Beacon Theatre in New York City to Red Rocks Amphitheater, to Voodoo Festival in City Park, New Orleans to Lollapalooza in Chicago, knows the party that the band brings to each and every gig.

With an audience filled with fans who sang along with every word and an energetic front-man in Shaw, the electric vibe only grew with each song.  The night started with a rousing rendition of “Stand Up,” with Shaw prowling the stage, becoming a part of the crowd as he walked on a small platform that jutted out from the stage, above but surrounded by the energetic fans.  Highlights of the stellar show included “Need You,” “Monster,” and “Catching Fireflies.”

Run, don’t walk, to catch The Revivalists on this tour- or any other time their tour bus rolls into a nearby city.  The experience is like nothing else!
